Black Lives Matter Banners, 2014
A collaboration with Direct Action Front for Palestine, 11 banners, black cotton fabric, keffiyeh detail stencil, and house paint, each 56" x 360" in size.
BLM banners were first deployed on December 13, 2014, as part of a massive demonstration against police brutality in NYC. Organized by young activists, the march was a key action in the #BlackLivesMatter movement following grand jury decisions not to indict police officers in the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown.
